Porous Stones
Porous stones allow even distribution of water through samples in triaxial, permeability, consolidation and direct shear tests. Each cell uses two stones. The aluminum oxide stones come either 1/4″ or 1/2″ thick in a variety of different diameters.
The stones provide solid support at both ends of soil specimens while allowing gree passage of water for testing. They feature a permeability raneg of 15 to 18ft³ of air per minute, per square foot and an average pore size of 179µm.
