Specific Gravity & Absorption of Fine Aggregate Set

The specific gravity set includes the pycnometer jar and conical mold with tamper. Used for the determination of bulk and apparent specific gravity and absorption of fine aggregate. The stainless steel conical mold is 40mm ID at the top, 9mm ID at the bottom, and 75mm high. The steel tamper weighs 12 ounces and has a 1″ diameter flat, circular tamping face.

The pycnometer jar features a spun brass 3/8” hole on one end. The other end of the jar is threaded to fit tightly. In addition a rubber gasket fits on the mouth of the jar. Preventing fine particles becoming deposited in the threads. Constructed of glass, the jar has a volume of 1 quart.
