Metal Pocket Vane Shear

The metal pocket vane shear tester provides a quick and efficient method for determining shear strength values of cohesive soils. It takes on-site measurements of excavations and readings of thin-wall or split core soil samples. It also takes evaluations in the laboratory.  Readings are from 0 to 2.5 tsf (1 kg/cm2). The dial on the unit reads in 0.05 tsf (0.05 kg/cm2) increments. The vane shear device comes with three vanes, which easily attach and detach from the device with the included hex-wrench. Additionally, the vane shear includes a custom, heavy-duty, nylon bag and laminated instructions.
