Toxic Interface Units
The toxic interface units allow for safe permeability testing of soils using toxic chemicals. The Control Panel and Permeameter require two chambers to prevent the chemicals from entering the panel and venting to the atmosphere. It also isolates the chemical to the sample and the lower half of each interface chamber. In addition, the lower half contains a stainless steel tube, base and a zero volume change ball valve. A Viton O-Ring seals the tube and base. Each unit comes equipped with a Viton diaphragm, used to isolate the chemical from the water within the chamber. Additionally, the polycarbonate top of the chamber allows for easy viewing of the diaphragm’s position.
