Porcelain crucibles with lid have wide glazed inner and outer surfaces except for the outside bottom and rim. The crucibles are autoclavable and withstand temperatures to 1150° C. To prevent thermal stress cracks, the heating/cooling rate should not exceed 200°C per hour. They have excellent resistance to acids and alkalies except for hydrofluoric acid.
