Cement Testing Equipment

Cement testing characterizes the physical and mechanical properties of hydraulic cement before it enters a concrete mix. The results directly influence mix design, setting behavior, and long-term durability.  That makes standardized, reproducible cement testing equipment essential for quality control and specification compliance.

Compressive strength of cement mortar is the primary acceptance test, performed per ASTM C109 using 50mm cube specimens prepared and cured under controlled conditions. The Blaine air permeability method (ASTM C204) measures fineness, a key predictor of strength gain and setting time.  Setting time is determined with Vicat apparatus per ASTM C191, establishing initial and final set boundaries that govern placement windows. Drying shrinkage, tested under ASTM C596, evaluates the dimensional stability of mortar bars over time — a critical metric for shrinkage-prone applications. Each method requires dedicated, precision equipment: cube molds, flow tables, Blaine apparatus, Vicat needles, and length comparators, all meeting the dimensional and procedural tolerances the standards demand.

Myers provides the cement testing equipment that QC labs and cement producers rely on.  Our team understands the difference between a passing result and a borderline one.  That’s why we carry the calibrated, standards-compliant gear that difference depends on.
