Windsor systems measure the compressive strength of concrete, mortar and brick in-situ quickly and accurately. The Windsor Probe System test in-place strength of normal and high-performance concrete. The system finds the strength of a structure by driving a probe into the concrete With a known amount of force. It then measures concrete with a maximum compressive strength of 17,000 psi. Silver windsor probes are used for high performance concrete with strength up to 17,000 psi and concrete having a density greater than 125lbs per cubic foot. Gold windsor probes have a 56 percent greater cross-sectional area than the silver probes and are recommended for lightweight concrete. The Windsor Pin System uses a spring loaded device to drive a steel pin into the test sample. The depth of penetration of the needle correlates to the compressive strength of the material under test.
