The Shelby Tube Permeameter designed for tests to perform on undisturbed soil samples in sections of 3 inch diameter Shelby tubes.Ā The apparatus consists of corrosion-resistant top and bottom plates, valves and two porous stones. As well as two stainless steel screens, and three threaded rods with tilt nuts for quick re-positioning.Ā The inside of the top plate is concave for de-airing.Ā The tie rods extend to permit testing in Shelby tubes. Up to 12 inches long under constant or falling head conditions.
