NCAT Field Permeameter Kit

The NCAT Field Permeameter is a falling head permeameter that uses Darcy’s Law to determine the rate of water flow through asphalt pavement.  Design selected by the National Center for Asphalt Technology (NCAT) for its close correlation with laboratory test results.  Field testing permits on the spot, accurate estimation of permeability, eliminating the need for coring, patching and lab testing. Implement correction to mix and placement procedures right away.  Testing and subsequent calculations get completed in 10-15 minutes by a single technician.  The simple procedure does not require extensive training.
