The designed use of augers obtain disturbed soil samples. Augers have an open entry way that makes it easier for small soil clumps and small rocks to enter. Various types have different designs structures for material such as: Mud Augers, Regular Augers, Spiral type augers and Economy augers. In addition the basic soil sampling kits provide the ability to auger in materials up to 12 feet. The comes with all of the basic tools and comes in two different sizes, 2.25″ and 3.25″.
