Prism Testing

Prism testing provides a means of verifying the delayed expansion of cement caused by hydration. Evaluates compressive strength characteristics of in-place masonry construction through testing of prisms obtained on site.  Prism molds produce the required 10″ effective gauge length prism test bars.  The molds feature removable partitions, base and end plates.  Length comparators measure the length changes of hardened cement paste, mortar and concrete prismatic specimens. Accommodating test specimens with up to 4″ x 4″ cross sections.  The cement autoclave uses accelerated means of estimating delayed expansion of Portland cement caused by hydrations of CaO and MgO.  The test bars control steam pressure and corresponding constant temperature.
